Overview
As part of the Student Exchange Program, a one-day Unreal Engine 3D World Building
Workshop
was organized to provide visiting students from Lebanon with hands-on experience in
interactive 3D
design, immersive storytelling, and virtual world creation.
The session introduced participants to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, a leading
real-time 3D creation
platform widely used in gaming, architecture, film, and virtual production.
Objectives
The workshop aimed to:

Introduce students to the fundamentals of Unreal Engine’s interface and workflow

Provide practical exposure to level design, basics of materials, lighting, and
interactive
elements.

Encourage collaboration and creativity through mini-project.

Offer an immersive VR experience to view their own creations in 3D space.

Student Participation
All 16 Lebanese students actively participated in each stage of the workshop.

Each group presented a unique concept, ranging from futuristic cities and nature-inspired

Learning Outcomes

Introduction & Orientation to new tool Unreal Engine - Skill Development: Walkthrough of
interface, project setup, and scene navigation. Students gained foundational skills in
3D
design, world-building, and visual scripting.

Collaborative Learning of Core Concepts: Students created basic 3D landscapes, added
meshes, and experimented with lighting. The exchange fostered teamwork and
cross-cultural
interaction.

Creativity Challenge: Students worked in small groups to design themed 3D environments.

Immersive Experience - VR Showcase: Final 3D worlds were explored using VR headsets for
a first-person immersive experience. Experiencing their creations in VR allowed students
